Football note. (My sports-hating friends can skip this entry. *g*)

The newspaper today, skipping, for some reason (/sarcasm), its usual adulation for a certain receiver here in Dallas, has printed a quote that makes our Dallas prima donna look like an over-cocky middle-schooler. Which is what he is, pretty much. The quote is from the one NFL spotlight-hogging player that I loathe the most, Randy Moss. He explains his recent bout of dropped passes and other mistakes on... a bad mood. "Maybe because I'm unhappy, and I'm not too much excited about what's going on, so my concentration and focus level tends to go down when I'm in a bad mood. So all I can say is, if you put me in a good situation and make me happy, man, you get good results."

You know, I'm as good at my job as he is at his. Yeah, really. But if I said that around here, I'd get laughed at if I was lucky, and fired if I wasn't.

I've often wondered what a salary-and-"benefits" cap would do to the game. Now I'm wondering if it might, among other things, prick holes in some of these testosterone-inflated egos. And I use the word "prick" advisedly.

You know, I think you've hit the nail on the head as to why I don't like sports. This is a prime example of the typical "sports mentality" and ego. Feh.
