whatever happens

I almost never get the chance to read good news. So it's heartening to me to read today that:

1) A Vietnam vet saved a young man's life in a subway by throwing himself (and the young man) under the train because he didn't have enough time to get him back onto the platform.
http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/01/03/subway.rescue.ap/index.html

2) The mayor of Albuquerque is working on ending the need for euthanizing animals in his city - with some practical ideas.

and

3) Helicopters are dropping hay to cattle stranded by the Colorado storms.

Also, I might as well add:

4) The death of Gerald Ford, a 91-year-old ex-President who was never actually elected, has gotten a lot more media attention than the death of Saddam Hussein. In fact, if you remove stories about the smuggled video from the media outlets, Hussein's death was all but unobserved.

Comments

I'm actually kinda surprised about the lack of info about Saddam, but as for the smuggled video, I think they caught the guy and are charging him. I've no idea what they're going to do with him.
