A Peanut and Tango report:

Larry is already riding Peanut! He says she loves it and is having great fun (which doesn't surprise me), and he believes he'll eventually be able to use her in the "special kids" program (which does surprise me).

He didn't want to start work on Tango yet, due to the heat. The heat's getting to him, for one thing, so he really only wants to work one of them right now. Also, if you're going to work any horse in high temperatures, then you make it the naughty one, because horses are a lot less likely to cause trouble if they're hot. They get lazy.

In the meantime, he's letting the kids use Tango to learn good horse confirmation, and how to groom and halter a horse. Tango - who is 16 hands - puts her head all the way down so the kids can halter and pet her.

Aw! I'm so glad they're doing well! :D And even though I'm scared of horses, that last bit about Tango lowering her head for the kids made me think "Aww how cute!" :D
