whatever happens

My mom's potassium levels finally came down enough for them to operate. She came through just fine, and they expect to transfer her to her room later tonight, although it's unlikely she'll wake up for any of that. She'd fractured the bone just above the web of steel over her replaced knee, so they put in a plate and some bone graft stuff to encourage the bone to grow. My dad (who is the world's best husband, I swear) will probably go sit with her tonight.

Whew.

Everyone's gearing up for the hurricane, even way up here. We expect 4" of rain, and gusts of wind up to about 55 - rough, but we've had that before. Originally it was supposed to hit us tomorrow in the early afternoon, but now they're predicting late tonight, so I did my grocery shopping tonight. I hate driving in the rain. But man, am I tired.

I'm so glad to hear that your mum is doing well. What a relief!

OMG. I was about to leave a message, but got totally distracted by the baby cottontail theteaqueen has as her sigpic. HOW FRIGGIN' CUTE IS THAT?!?!?

Kevin just called up wunderground.com and saw that the eye is RIGHT OVER YOU!! )$@(%*)$#!!!!!!

I hope everything's okay. Kevin suggested I call you on the phone, but (1) I know how you hate the phone and (2) I think the last thing you need to be worrying about with high winds and animals at risk is a chatty phone call!!

But I'm thinking of you guys every minute and hoping that nothing dangerous happens anywhere near you. Protection vibes coming thick and strong!!

love,
me
*HUGS* Really, everything is pretty mild here - at least up to now, which is 8:45 PM. Lots of rain and some strong wind, but nothing too bad. It's true the darn storm veered east of Dallas and passed right over us, but it must have worn itself out already. We're OK. The vibes must've been good ones!
Keep us informed how you are. We worry.
