whatever happens

Anyone who might have thought I was whining about the rain, note that 37 counties were declared disaster areas by the governor and Texas has been named a national disaster area. (Not our county, however. Knee-high mud puddles don't compare to houses being swept away or a river rising 26 feet in one hour.) And for anyone who is into statistics, here's one for you - in the month of May, 37.5 billion (yeah, billion) gallons of water fell on Texas, which is enough to cover the entire state 8" deep. And it's a big state!

I've been doing a lot of the emergency coverage. This stuff is unreal!!!! O_O I'm thankful that you and your roomie and animals have been spared a lot of the worst of it!

I guess if there's a silver lining to this, Texas has gone from drought to no drought in no time at all.
I don't see how anyone who follows the news at all could imagine that you are whining. The situation in parts of Texas looks devastating! I'm so glad you and your roomie and your animals are all safe, if soggy. ♥

And you are allowed to whine if you feel like it, even if you don't have a reason, says the Sage (aka ME!). Whining can be very good for the soul. ;) xxxx
