Good news and bad news. *sigh*

Good news first. My nephew's surgery went well, and although he's still pretty out of it, he has responded to simple commands - wiggle your eyebrow, lift your finger. It looks as if he'll make a full recovery. Luckily he had a state-of-the-art helmet. It was expensive, but worth every penny! They say he'll need another surgery in about three months, but he'll eventually be just fine.

Bad news is Randi. She was moved to the ICU tonight. She has blood clots - a large one in her leg, several on her lungs, and one moving through her heart. It's very dangerous and very serious, and they've assigned her to a pulmonary specialist and are going to be monitoring her closely. On the upside, she's been getting blood thinner already, and they are still talking about sending her to the rehab center, so I'm trying hard not to freak out and panic. The rehab doctors are a bit freaked out, because until the day before yesterday, she had no symptoms, so they were shocked when they found the clots. Thank God they're thorough, because they ran the cardiogram just as a precaution, not because they believed they'd find anything really. They also said that they believe some of the clots in the lungs have been there for a long time. It's pretty amazing that she's still alive, and that freaks ME out.

I'm glad your nephew's doing better. I hope the worst if over for Randi - even though I know it's going to be a while in rehab. Take care.
I'm very glad that your nephew is doing okay.
Thank goodness he had the good sense to be wearing a helmet.

I'll keep sending healing energy and light a special candle for Randi. That is SO scary. I wish there was something I could do for you. *massive hugs*
I'm so glad to hear that your nephew is doing well.

I wish that I could so something to help you and Randi. If I can do anything at all, no matter how big or small, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.
You, Randi, and your Nephew are all in my thoughts. Holy crap. o_o

*big hugs and best wishes!!!*
Oh dear, you're having such a tumultuous time - I can't imagine having to try to juggle the stress of all the ups and downs. *HUGSHUGS*

So glad to hear you Nephew is doing better... those kind of crashes usually cause so much damage... it's definitely something of a miracle.

That's so scary for Randi... I know from first hand experience unfortunately, how deadly blood cots can be. I'm so glad another miracles seems to have kept her safe. Still thinking of both of you all the time!
Okay, seriously Universe. That's ENOUGH now.

Sending lots of hugs and healing thoughts for both Randi and your nephew. JEEZ.

May 2011 have been the worst year you will ever have. (That means we're now over it!)
