Patience hell (blue)

I did something I haven't done for a long time - I created an LJ icon. Actually, I created two, identical words but different pictures. I'm using one today, so you can get an idea of my mood.

It's the puppies, of course. Poor babies, they got spayed. We're supposed to keep them quiet. We're supposed to keep the wounds dry, i.e., not muddy. These things are impossible. We lock them in the kitchen for as many hours as they can stand, but after they've gotten bored and whined and pawed the gate, they shove the gate down and jump over it. Actually, Niki climbed over it yesterday, with a cone around her neck, no less.

The cone is was another issue. (I finally gave up and removed it.) Niki was so freaked out about it that she charged everywhere like the proverbial bull in the china shop, and when she went through my den, she invariably knocked over my TV tray and my tower fan, then slammed against the backs of my legs. She also managed to shove things off the porch. Poor baby, she was frantic, so I took it off. So far, so good, she hasn't chewed the sutures. She tried to while at the vet, which is why she had a cone and my goodgirl Taffy did not.

Kita sure is happy. The last time we took her companion away, Elphie never came back, so Kita figured the same thing was going to happen this time. She was so depressed. Now she's happily watching over and disciplining the pups.

Taffy and Niki are loving the novelty of having canned food for breakfast as well as dinner. That, of course, is being done so that I can give them their meds. Shop and Vac do not pause to determine what they are eating, any more than the real ShopVac pauses to see what it's sucking up.
