I rarely talk politics, either in person or online. But Donald Trump has finally disgusted me to the point where I have to let off a little steam to someone besides my poor roomie. This is another post that could either be really long or really short, so I've decided on short, as usual.

I am not a big Obama supporter, but I was immensely proud of our country when he was elected. We keep saying that we are a nation of tolerance, where anyone can be president, and damned if we didn't prove it. Now Trump is setting out to ruin that victory - after all, what is he if not another rich white guy? His offensive statements are humiliating to me as a fellow American. Should he be elected president, I will be just as ashamed of this country as I was proud when Obama was elected. But surely the American public couldn't be that stupid, could it??

Right there with you. Trump is absolutely disgusting and shameful and I'm astonished that he is the Republican front-runner! What does that say about the people in this country? At first, I laughed when he announced his plans to run because it seemed like such a joke, and I was so sure he wasn't going to be taken seriously. Wrong...

I'm not sure which candidate you're favoring, but I'm really hoping for Bernie Sanders myself. The more I've learned about him, the more I like him.
Well that's certainly encouraging. :-) I caption local news from all over the country and they give Trump so much air time. >_< And the only stations that even MENTION Bernie Sanders are in San Francisco, Seattle, and New York. So there's still the issue of the media giving the Trump clown way too much attention. But you're right, he's sensational and that's fun to report.
Whew. What a relief!
Having seen him on RFD TV and liked him very much, I'm for Bobby Jindal. However, I know nothing about Sanders. I'll check him out!
I told myself that I wasn't going to get involved in this conversation, nope, only because I tend not to get involved in political conversations. But since it's you, I decided it would be okay, since I know we can all keep it civil.

First of all, I totally agree with you about Donald Trump. It boggles my mind that this buffoon has any support at all, let alone the amount that he appears to have.

At this point, Hillary Clinton has my firm support. (Be nice, please. ^_~) I would also be more than happy with Bernie Sanders, or, if he decides to run, Joe Biden.

I had never heard of Bobby Jindal, so I investigated him and find that my views are diametrically and strongly opposed to his on any issue that is of importance to me, and on some that aren't. Of course, that doesn't mean that I care if you support him. If we were all the same, this would be a boring world.

Sanders won't go independent. He said he would sooner not be president than let ANY of the Republicans take office. He also has nothing but good things to say about Clinton, merely that he and she disagree on a few things. I've never seen a more authentic and respectful campaign in my life!
